Incoming Freshman:
An incoming freshman is defined as a first-year student who is beginning their university studies. During your first year at Grand Valley, you will remain a first-year student for housing purposes, regardless of the number of academic credit hours you carry.  Incoming freshman live in housing that is designated for first-year students.  If you are a non-traditional incoming freshman, please use the incoming transfer link below to find a better housing fit.

Incoming Transfer:
An incoming transfer student is defined as a student who has previous experience attending another university.  During your first year at Grand Valley, you will remain a transfer student for housing purposes, regardless of the number of academic credit hours you carry.

Returning Student: 
A returning student is defined as a student who has previously attended Grand Valley regardless if they have ever resided on-campus.
