Sue C. Carnell
Wayne
Sue Carnell was appointed to the Grand Valley State University Board of Trustees in 2009. She is the former deputy superintendent of Detroit Public Schools and has also served as an education policy advisor to Governor Granholm. Carnell received an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University.

She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and holds a certificate from the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in business administration.

Shelley Padnos was appointed to the GVSU Board of Trustees in 2007. She serves on the Finance and Audit Committee. Padnos is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Louis Padnos Iron and Metal Company. Padnos holds a BA degree from Michigan State University, master's degree in taxation from Grand Valley State University and a J.D. from Thomas Cooley Law School.

Wolters is President of the Kate and Richard Wolters Foundation and Chair of the Steelcase Foundation. She holds a master's degree in social work from Michigan State University and a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Aquinas College.
